HIGH-LEVEL ADVISORY COUNCIL (HLAC)

Mrs. Amina Oyagbola was on Thursday, February 16, 2023, appointed as Member of the High-Level Advisory Council (HLAC) to support Women and Girls, by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. At the launch of the High-Level Advisory Council, the President stated that the HLAC alongside the National Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy Dialogue, Adolescent Girls’ Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), and Nigeria for Women Project Scale-Up (NFWP-SU), would target the reduction of poverty and the building of a sustainable economy. The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, OFR, in her welcome address at the event, noted that the High-Level Advisory Council will provide strategic guidance, oversight, policy and support to the government–led gender equality initiatives as well as advise Nigeria’s financial and technical partners on critical areas of support for women and girls in Nigeria.

We wish all those appointed to serve on this HLAC success, as they continue to advocate for the inclusion of women in development and governance in Nigeria.
