Nglan Niat is the Group Chief Human Resources Officer, Dangote Industries Limited
(www.dangote.com), the largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa, where she is responsible for driving the design and implementation of the organization’s HR strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the Group. With a scope of 14 countries and over 30,000 full time employees, she leads a forward-thinking and resilient HR team focused on creating value and developing the next generation of leaders, while the Group continues to diversify into new sectors and regions.
Prior to joining the Dangote Group, Nglan spent 19 years with SLB (formerly known as Schlumberger www.slb.com), the world’s leading oilfield services company, where she took on numerous HR Management and Executive positions with increasing responsibility and challenges across various international environments. Aside from her numerous assignments in Africa, she held various senior HR management positions in Canada, USA & France.
Nglan’s key expertise include Employee and Management Development, International HR Management, Compensation & Benefits in complex international environments, Employee share plan management, HR integration in mergers & acquisitions, Diversity & Inclusion, HR communications and HR shared services.
Nglan holds an MBA, with specialization in Human Resources Management from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) Montreal – University of Montreal’s business school and an MSc in Microbiology from University Laval, Quebec. She is perfectly bilingual (English & French).
She is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM); an active member of Gaia Africa, Nigeria’s premier private members business club for leading women, and sits on the board of the African Leadership University (ALU).
Nglan is married and the mother of two boys.
