Few days after the world voted for gender parity during the International Women’s Day, a proposed bill which seeks to promote gender equality was thrown out of the senate.
The bill focuses on eliminating discrimination based on gender in the fields of politics, education and employment. It also prohibits all forms of violence against women.

Gender equality means equal rights and opportunities for women and men in laws and policies, and equal access to resources and services within families, communities and society at large.
