Shaping the Future of Nigeria’s Workforce

2017 is almost at an end and while many are looking for entertainment shows to usher out the year, WISCAR (Women In Successful Careers) is ushering in the festive season with a high-powered event for individuals who want to have a successful career. WISCAR is a non-profit organization focused on empowering and developing professional women to contribute to development and nation building in Africa. Come December 9, 2017, the organization will celebrate its 10th Anniversary as well as hold its Annual Leadership and Mentoring Conference in an event that promises to reaffirm the undeniable place of women across the professional spectrum and shape the future of Nigeria’s workforce.

In the lead up to the event, WISCAR is holding the #IAMAPOWERWOMAN social media campaign, encouraging the successful career woman to share her success story. As part of the campaign, successful career women are encouraged to upload a video or write up on why they are proud to be a power career woman using the hashtag #IAMAPOWERWOMAN. That way, they can also inspire other individuals who are just starting out their careers or at mid-level career stage to carry on.

WISCAR’s 10th anniversary Annual Leadership and Mentoring Conference will hold at the Shell Hall, MUSON centre on the 9th of December 2017. Keynote speaker for the event is former Minister for Communication and ICT, Dr. Mrs. Omobola Johnson. Other speakers such as Herbert Wigwe, CEO and Group Managing Director of Access Bank plc, Mrs. Bisi Fayemi – wife of former Ekiti state Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Udo Okonjo – Real Estate Investor and Advisor and many others will also be present to give the audience front-row insights into challenges of the workplace and institutions.

Also in aligning with its mission to fill organizational gender gap through structured and strategic one-on-one mentoring on the WIN-with-WISCAR mentoring programme, WISCAR will also be graduating its Stream 8 WIN-with-WISCAR mentoring class and inducting its new class – thereby keeping to its vision of building competencies and capabilities required by professional career women to succeed.
So if you are a power career woman, and will like to be part of the WISCAR 10th Anniversary event, upload a video or a write up on why you are a power career woman using the hashtag #IAMAPOWERWOMAN. For information or to RSVP for the event, log on to www.wiscar.ng
