2020 WISCAR ANNUAL LEADERSHIP AND MENTORING CONFERENCE EVENT COMMUNIQUE Introduction and Overview The 2020 Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR) Virtual Annual Leadership and Mentoring Conference was successfully held on Saturday 28th November 2020 from 2.15pm to 6.45pm. The theme of the conference was “THE FUTURE WE WANT’’. With over 800 (Eight Hundred) delegates in attendance from across Nigeria, the Continent, Europe and the US, it was a truly a global event. COVID 19 Fundraising Drive / Outreach
Within weeks of the government-imposed lock-down, WISCAR rallied members of its community to support our COVID-19 Relief efforts. We implemented various feeding and food provision programmes across three states in Nigeria; Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja partnering with various organizations to ensure all of our interventions reach the targeted beneficiaries, the most vulnerable members of our society. Together we provided food relief to over 4000 people and also distributed essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for community health workers at two
International Women’s Day Celebration
The 2020 International Women’s Day themed EachforEqual #GenerationEquality was marked by WISCAR with the screening of a documentary titled Money Marriage produced by Shucks Media in collaboration with Africa Business Radio, Impact Hub Lagos and Global Child Health. This celebration which takes place every year on the 8th of March kicked off with an opening remark by the Founder/Chairperson of WISCAR, Mrs. Amina Oyagbola.
